Archery World Tour is a first-person shooter sports game in which the player shoots arrows at concentric circles or scoring rings and balloons on bullseye targets. The game presents the player with two forms of competitive play. They can play levels to unlock new levels on a map or single challenges. Both formats display different geographic environments and seasons and reward the player with gold stars and trophies.
The player competes in an open or field competition area lined with trees on the right and left sides. A bullseye target is displayed in a central position at 30 meters or more away. With target archery, the player might face a non-moving target on a tripod or pole or one that moves left and right, up and down, or in circular or even triangular directions. To win a round, the game might prompt the player to hit specific rings worth different score amounts to reach a certain total score or burst one or more balloons with accuracy.
Archery World Tour provides the player with three or more arrows and a mounted crosshair sight. The player must make precise movements and anticipate various factors to achieve an accurate shot, especially when the target moves and given wind conditions. The game shows the speed and direction of the wind under a white-and-orange wind sock icon.
