Obama: Race for the White House, or Obama Bubbles, is a bubble-shooting game that tasks the player with winning the 2008 Democratic Party Presidential Primary elections in the United States as Barack Obama by collecting bubbles that represent topics voters cared about most (i.e., Defense, Education, Religion, Monetary, Media, Culture and Technology). The player collects the bubbles by following bubble shooter rules. They must connect three or more of the same type by topic using projectile bubbles shot from a shooter that features a fountain pen as a targeting arrow.
The player must visit six regions in the U.S. (Midwest, Mountain, Pacific, South, Northeast and Hawaii). They need to win a certain percentage of voter approval at each campaign stop. The percentage is based entirely on the number of bubbles they collect per each region's specific requirements on the right side of the screen. The percentage appears on the U.S. map as the player progresses through each region.
Obama: Race for the White House gives the player only one minute to achieve their objective for Barack Obama. It also only allows the player to visit a region once.
