Snail Bob 2 is the second installment in the Snail Bob arcade adventure and logic puzzle platformer series. When a breeze tears pages from his wall calendar, Bob realizes that he forgot his grandfather's upcoming birthday! After he finds the perfect gift, he leaves with the hope that he can reach his grandfather's house in time for the party. The forest between their homes is dangerous. The player's goal is to help Bob travel safely through 25 levels of obstacles and traps.
Bob uses old hollow logs as paths through the forest. Along the way, he faces various manmade and natural threats, including giant fans with sharp blades, black spike traps, angry and hungry animals, ants with javelin bows, enemy snails who want his shell, live electrical areas, molten metals, swinging demolition balls and sharp-toothed plants!
Snail Bob 2 gives the player access to a variety of tools to help Bob. They can double his speed using a button near the top-left corner. They can also activate or shut down a wide range of simple machines and pieces of powerful modern equipment, including bridges, hydraulic doors, wood and metal elevators, and electrical systems. The player uses their understanding of physics, common sense, and logic to make the correct adjustments.
Completing a level isn't difficult. The game provides the player with clockwise-rotating, white, dashed hint lines around interactive elements such as buttons, levers and pumps. It also allows the player to stop Bob's forward movement. If the player helps Bob successfully reach the next log, they receive points, and the next level unlocks.
