Pair Up 3D is a sorting and matching puzzle game. The player attempts to earn as many points as possible by quickly finding and pairing items found in different home, school and public places. Every time they complete their task, they unlock new places and items to sort and match.
The game starts in the Hobby Room. For example, the player might need to sort and match musical instruments and related gear, including cassette tapes, cordless microphones, drum kit drums, electric guitars, traditional pan flutes and tripod stands for sheet music. Unlockable places include the Kids Room, School, Farmers Market, Bedroom, Cellar, Kitchen, Food Court, Gym and Living Room.
In each place, the player must sort through items mixed up on the floor to find pairs. They then drag each of the paired items to the closed silver doors of a disposal chute near the bottom-center of the screen. Once they pair two items, the doors open, and the items disappear from view.
Pair Up 3D makes the player complete their tasks during timed play. If the player beats the clock, they also earn bonus and multiplier points. Lastly, the game features mini games (Math Game, Attention Game, Word Game and Link Game) that reward extra points.
