Jewel Explode is a match-3 puzzle game that combines nostalgic gemstone play with a steampunk theme. The game displays moving gears, a luxury board and a mix of stunning jewels in a variety of colors bordered with gold metal. The jewels are positioned on the board in classic rows and columns.
The player must swipe and swap the jewels to create connected lines. Every time they complete a line of three or more jewels, the game rewards them with points. They must achieve a certain number of points or complete a specific task before they run out of moves or a timer counts down to zero.
When the player completes a line of four matching jewels, a new jewel made of a stack of three circles appears on the board and acts like a bomb that removes at least one line of matching jewels and other non-matching ones in the immediate vicinity. If the player matches five jewels, they receive a rainbow-colored sphere in a gold hoop that removes all of the same jewels with one move.
Jewel Explode offers many hours and levels of fun challenges. For example, the player might need to break blocks underneath jewels. The game displays the number of remaining moves or a timer at the top-left corner, the task near the top center, and the current points at the top-right corner. If the player does extremely well, they also receive up to three achievement stars for the level.
