Cooking Festival is a restaurant management simulation game in which a player learns how to become a top traveling chef. The game starts with the player working in an eatery known as the Pancakes Caf� in San Francisco. Their goal is to progress enough at the establishment to unlock restaurants around the city and then travel to other locations such as Naples, Berlin, Hong Kong and Mumbai.
The player prepares various beverages and foods during their tour. Commonly requested items include coffee, pancakes with and without toppings, Italian pizzas, grilled ribs and ice cream. They must complete orders as quickly as possible to prevent customer dissatisfaction. They can gauge emotions via a green vertical bar next to each customer.
This game doesn't require the player to perform all the actions necessary to make everything. Instead, they make what they need by selecting items and spots, such as a raw food item and the grill or the coffee machine. For example, to make pancakes, the player selects the bowl of batter, selects the grill, and then selects a plate. To add a chocolate drizzle topping, they select the sauce bowl and the cooked pancake.
Cooking Festival rewards the player with coins and stars. They multiply their coins by watching videos. Over time, they gain access to other foods. They also receive gifts daily and achievement rewards over time.
Via the instant photo button on the map screen, the player can unlock four special customers when they reach specific star level. The map shows their progress and the other local restaurants. The player can also purchase extra customers, more time, instant-dish and anti-burn options, and double coins by using the grocery cart button. Lastly, they can see the other city locations with the airplane button.
