Roboduo is a pixelated, two-dimensional arcade platformer that focuses on team gameplay. It features a pair of robot characters (Robo and Geralt) traveling across floating gardens of soil, grass, flowers, topiaries and trees. The player switches back and forth between the characters on each level to complete tasks and reach a dark arch-style portal that takes them to the next level. The game also offers a multiplayer opportunity if two players use the same input device (keyboard).
Each character has unique abilities. Robo jumps higher than Geralt. He can also power electrical machinery. Geralt doesn't jump high, but he's incredibly strong. He can push concrete blocks to create tiers or push buttons to lift massive hydraulic doors. He can also push electrical boxes to help Robo power elevator-style platforms. With their combined skills, the player can help the characters complete tasks and reach areas they can't reach alone.
In Roboduo, the player's only goals are to direct the movements of each robot, help the characters reach the portals and complete all 17 levels or stages of the game. They might need to collect keys to unlock some portals.
If they accidentally direct a robot to fall off a platform or make a mistake, they can restart a level without penalty.
