Pop Blocks, a matching-block game, places the player in a home where an adorable, white kitten needs help exploring rooms, including the living room, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. The player must remove a certain number of blocks of a specific color or items in the way, such as beach balls, bubbles, crates and spinning tops, before they run out of moves or time. In some cases, they must remove objects attached to objects first, such as one or two boards on a crate.
The player can clear two or more matching blocks at a time. They can also use free boosters, or create or buy boosters, to make the process easier and faster. For example, if they remove five or more blocks, they create a Rocket Booster that clears a row. If they remove six to nine blocks, they create a Bomb Booster that takes out blocks all around it. If they remove ten or more blocks, they create a Pinwheel Booster that can destroy all blocks of the same color as the pinwheel.
Additional boosters include a hammer that allows them to remove one block or item, a potted plant that removes one vertical column and a shuffle booster that redistributes the blocks. The player can also create even more powerful boosters by combining two or more of the above ones.
As part of a daily bonus and during gameplay, the player earns and wins golden coins that they can use to buy boosters. They can also buy lives beyond the first five free ones.
