Mansion Secrets: Match 3 is a matching-object game in the Match-3 category. The player must group at least three of the same objects at a time to remove pieces from game boards across levels. Their goal is to collect a specific number of one or more objects, such as household items (i.e., apples, bells, books, bows and teapots) or items behind objects (i.e., grass patches and vases). They also clear obstacles, such as clouds and ice that hide objects, vines that prevent matches, and wooden crates that block squares.
The player can only perform matches in a row or column. They must swap two adjacent items to create a group. After a match, the game removes the items, and then new ones flow onto the board.
The left side of the screen displays the number of moves remaining at the top of an arch-style vertical bar. When the player runs out of moves, they use the coins they earn at the end of each level to buy extra ones to continue playing. The bar also shows the tasks at the center and the level number at the bottom. The right side of the screen displays boosters that never impact the number of moves. The player unlocks these tools over time.
Mansion Secrets allows the player to create boosters as well. When the player creates a group in an L or T shape, they make a TNT barrel bomb that removes objects within a large square blast radius. In a match-4 scenario, they create red-and-white striped fireworks that clear away an entire column or row. With match-4 in a square layout, the player creates a bumblebee that randomly removes a single item. With match-5, they make a rainbow and gold crown that removes the same type of object from the entire board.
