Football Run is a sports running game that features arcade platformer elements. The player directs the movements of a soccer player avatar who kicks a ball while running along various paths in different areas. The first environment features 20 levels. The player must complete one level successfully to unlock the next one.
The avatar runs and kicks the ball automatically. The player's only tasks are to help him leap over and slide under obstacles and collect five-sided golden coins and red soccer balls. If the player allows the avatar to come into contact with hard or pointed obstacles on a path, they must restart the level. The most common traps include walls and spikes. The player reaches the end of a level when they direct the avatar to slide through a checkpoint zone marked with a gold flag.
Football Run rewards the player with up to three stars. The player also keeps the coins and red balls. They can use coins to upgrade their avatar at the store and red soccer balls to continue a run at a checkpoint instead of starting over entirely.
