Candy Match Saga 2 is a match-3 puzzle game with a candy theme. A witch on a broomstick and her cute, faithful, black cat need the player's help collecting pieces of candy on a path through a dark forest on a windy day. The player must match three or more of the same type of hard candy in a vertical or horizontal line to remove the pieces from a floating board. The game features a variety of sweets, including flower, ring, round and swirl candies.
The player receives their mission before the start of each level on a pop-up alert. They can review the tasks for a mission at the top-center of the screen at any time. They must complete the mission before they run out of moves. The game shows them the number of moves remaining at the top-right corner. When the player completes their mission, they receive a bright golden star as a reward.
Candy Match Saga 2 doesn't give the player boosters for matching more than three candies. Instead, they must earn these power-ups over time. One booster removes a row and column of candies; a second one drags away candies at random; and two blow up different sections.
The player also receives five lives from the start of the game, which means that they can fail up to five times.
