Candy Fever, also known as Candy World: Christmas Fever, is a match-3 game set in a world of floating islands in the sky covered with delicious sweet treats that include cake pops, ice cream pops, red velvet cupcakes, swirled hard candies and other desserts. Santa's helper, a little anthropomorphic cookie, leads the player along a path level by level through match-3 games in which the player must complete tasks to win.
The player might need to reach a specific score or collect specific items. Unlike many similar games, they don't need to perfectly match the items on a board. For example, they can match cupcakes that look slightly different. Like similar games, matches beyond three identical or near-identical items create boosters, including black bombs, line blasts and rainbow bombs. With most of these boosters, the game powers up a dessert. For example, it adds lines to an item for line blasts or drops cake pop balls covered in sprinkles for rainbow bombs.
Candy Fever provides the player with match hints by making three desserts on a board pulsate. The player can use other types of boosters to quickly remove one or more desserts. They can also buy boosters with the coins they earn or win. The game features a winter-themed spin wheel that features coins and boosters as prizes. The player can also receive free coins by watching videos.
