Baby Chicco Adventures is an arcade-style adventure side-scrolling platformer that features a baby penguin with a red scarf who needs the player's help with navigating 15 levels of a game world and the threats within it. While playing a video game in their home, the baby penguin disappears after rainwater dripping on the television, console and controller alters reality. The penguin reappears in the game world.
The player directs the character to perform many typical side-scroller actions, such as walking through floating coins, jumping while under floating boxes that contain coins or green hearts to knock the items out of the boxes, and attacking enemies like anthropomorphic fruit and octopuses from above. The player can direct the baby penguin to jump on the head of an enemy. That said, they must make the penguin land perfectly or risk the character dying.
Baby Chicco Adventures also features hidden objects that the player must direct the penguin to collect. For example, some boxes have bones inside them. When the player directs the character to collect a bone, the penguin puts on a green military helmet and receives the ability to shoot enemies with white bones that knock each one from the path. The player must also direct it to find floating large hidden stars.
