Silly Walker is a career-simulation action game that tasks a player with building and piloting giant robot fighters to protect a town from dragons and monsters. Each robot that the player builds walks in a silly way with an unsteady gate and wildly swinging motions. Before each battle, the player must walk the robot toward the monster. Once it's in position, they use their controls and the robot's weapons to attack a monster.
This game shares similarities with popular world-building games that prompt a player to use money to open up hidden areas. The player wins money based on how far their robot kicks a monster down a multiplier section of track on the ground. They also win new robot blueprints. Between battles, the player uses their winnings to expand a laboratory and perform speed and capacity upgrades.
Once the player completes a build or upgrades in Silly Walker, they direct their avatar character to stand under the robot, which prompts the character to take on the role of pilot. They then direct the robot to a launch area. They reach a battle by selecting red crosshairs on a world map.
