Mini-Caps Soccer is a casual sports game that uses ragdoll physics. A player, via their avatar in a blue cap and uniform, attempts to make goals on a circular rooftop soccer field or map in either an increasingly difficult, game-by-game 1P mode or a player-versus-player or AI 2P mode.
The player uses one or more standard soccer or other balls. They might need to deal with obstacles, such as a net that slides around the field or a red paddle that slides back and forth in front of the net or turns at the center of the field. They might also need to retake the ball from an opponent or wait for the ragdoll avatar to get back up off the field after stumbling accidentally or falling during a head jump.
Whatever the case, the player only wins if they make the shot and score a goal. If they fail to do so, their avatar crouches down on the grass and covers the sides of their head with their hands.
Mini-Caps Soccer also features a mystery component. In 2P mode, the player can select an image that displays a die labeled with question marks. When they select it, the ball/balls or field remains a mystery until the game starts.
