VEX games are side-scrolling platformers that feature a stickman trying to survive many obstacles and traps in its path while exploring various worlds, known in-game as Acts, level-by-level and performing various physical feats and parkour maneuvers. Every game in the series tests a player's patience because of the many annoyingly and frustratingly difficult areas between the beginning and end of an Act and the places between Acts.
Game Play
Each VEX game contains platforms and walls with a wide range of threats, including stationary and moving blades, lasers, maces and spikes. The player might need to direct the stickman to slide across a platform through a narrow space, climb or leap back and forth between two walls, run across purple blocks that fall away, bounce upwards using bouncy platforms, or fly a hang glider. They often collect objects along the way, such as VEX coins and stars. With coins, they can typically upgrade the character's appearance. Some VEX games reward the player with medals and trophies that they can collect and show off in a trophy room.
