Bubble Shooter Ultimate is a bubble-popping game. Against a simple background, the player moves from level to level by removing a mix of colored bubbles from a playfield. Their ultimate goal is to earn the highest possible score.
The player receives a ring shooter, two swappable projectiles and a short dotted aiming line with an arrowhead tip. They can only remove bubbles by using the projectiles to create clusters of three or more matching linked bubbles. When a cluster of bubbles pops, the game rewards the player with points. If the player doesn't create a cluster, they lose one of five silver penalty pass bubbles in the lower-left area. When they commit five foul shots, the game penalizes them with an extra row of bubbles.
Bubble Shooter Ultimate also offers power ups. When the player pops enough bubbles to reach a new level, the game gives them an opportunity to select a power up. For example, they might add an extra projectile to the ring for access to three swappable projectiles per shot. They might also select one of three standard boosters (i.e., bombs, rainbow balls and rockets), increase the aiming line's length by 25%, or improve their chance of receiving a specific type of booster.
The player can track their score beneath a medal icon to the right of the playfield. They can track their all-time best score under a trophy icon.
