Balloons Pyramids, also known as Bubble Pyramids, is a non-traditional bubble shooter. Against a dynamic background of bubble and pyramid shapes that appear, shift and disappear at random, the player shoots at mixed bubble balloons distributed six rows deep to form the shape of a triangle. Their goal is to remove every balloon.
All balloons rest against a triangular grid made of connected circles. Each ball projectile appears at the empty center of the shape. The player receives a needle-thin, color-matched stretchable laser targeting line the same color as the projectile. The game requires simple point-and-shoot maneuvers.
The player can only remove two or more adjacent (i.e., separated by one space or side by side) balloons at a time with a projectile of the same color. The game then sucks all the balloons in the cluster up and then off the top of the screen. If the player fails to make a cluster, they lose one of four protections against a penalty, as noted near the upper-right corner. When they fail four times, the game adds a new row of mixed bubbles to the edges of the triangle.
Bubble Pyramids features boosters and preview balls. When the player reaches a certain points level, which they can track on the upper-left side of the screen, they can use their points to improve efficiency and reduce the risk of penalty by changing the color of the projectile, shooting a fireball projectile, or using a rainbow one. The first booster button also doubles as a preview of the next available projectile.
