Balls Around is a vibrant, colorful bubble shooter from the geometric shapes subcategory. Against a gradient purple background that features swirled patterns and floating clear bubbles, the player attempts to remove all clear and colored bubble-style balls on a hexagon-shaped grid with matching projectiles shot from a central arrow shooter. Their secondary goal is to earn the highest possible score.
The hexagon initially displays seven rows of bubble balls on all six sides. The player doesn't receive an aiming or targeting line. Instead, they select their targets with a black arrow and their cursor.
The player can only remove balls by creating clusters of three or more matching ones. They prepare their shots ahead with a preview of the next projectile in the lower-left corner. When their shot actually creates a cluster, the balls burst like real bubbles into smaller bubbles and then fade from the screen. The player tracks their score in the upper-right area.
Balls Around penalizes the player and makes gameplay more difficult after they fail to burst bubbles five times, as indicated in the upper-left area. It adds one or more extra rows of mixed-color bubbles to the hexagon shape.
The game presents the player with their points with white numbers in a central position above the hexagon.
