Keep collecting the required pieces to beat the level. Every level has a limited number of moves. Pieces pulsate as a clue as to which piece you are supposed to move. You advance through levels and collect more coins as you conquer the levels. There is a preview at the beginning of each level. Papa Cherry's speech bubble of information clues you in as to what exactly you are supposed to do on each level. In the upper left-hand corner, you are informed as to how many pieces of a certain type of unit you need to obtain to advance through the current level. You are informed about how many moves you have left on the current level, in the upper right-hand corner. Papa cherry informs you later in the game that matching up different shapes of the same pieces produce different results and outcomes. For example, he informs that you can match up pieces in L shapes and T shapes, and something different will happen in correspondence with the shape. If you run out of the moves you have left before you collect the number of pieces you are required to collect, you will not advance through the level you are on at that current time. The goal is to never run out of moves before collecting the required amount of pieces indicated in the upper left-hand corner.
