Zuma Pool is a bubble-popping game. The player attempts to use a frog shooter to destroy rolling bubble marbles on tracks in various wet locations, such as jungles, pools and bays. They must stop the lines of balls from reaching holes in the ground across 11 levels. They also earn as high a score as possible.
The frog carries one bubble marble projectile in its mouth. The game shows a preview of the next one on its back. That said, unlike similar Zuma category games, these projectiles aren't swappable.
The player shoots a projectile at any color-matched ones among the rolling marbles. They must match three or more of the same color to pop the bubbles. They can pause the movement of half the marbles and even automatically pop some by shooting at matching ones near the center of the line.�
When the player performs a middle match, the game stops the front portion entirely and the back half slows down. The player can then shoot and pop multiple clusters far more easily than with the full line of marbles moving as one. If the marble at the front of the back half matches two marbles at the end of the front half, or two at the back and one at the front, the game automatically drags the two halves back together to pop the cluster.
Zuma Pool allows the player to shoot unwanted marble projectiles off the screen at any time. By doing so, the player can prevent the line from growing longer. Additionally, once the player pops all the marbles of one color, the game stops generating matching projectiles.
