Yummy Tales 3 is a match-3 puzzle game. The player helps a puppy named Charlie complete tasks around the farm that he calls home. On a winding path past a barn, fields, a windmill and a water wheel, the player completes match-3 and other types of moves to collect items for Charlie. For their efforts, they receive coins, boosters, points and stars.
Charlie tasks the player with collecting blueberries, carrots, peppers, plums, tomatoes, watermelons and other fruits and vegetables. They also collect other items commonly found on a farm. Additionally, they often face obstacles, such as ice-blocked items, locked treasure chests, and sections of boards that block off columns and rows.
The player creates sets of three or more matching items. They also use special items and prefabricated boosters. For example, they can create a line blast by matching four identical items. This tool removes an entire column or row of items. If they align five items, they create a spiral bomb that removes all of one selected type. When the player combines special items, they make the results more extensive or powerful.
The prefabricated boosters unlock below the boards at specific levels. These boosters include a double arrow that allows the player to swap two items anywhere on a board and a shovel that collects an item and anything collectible beneath it.
Yummy Tales 3 features plenty of side gameplay action. The player opens chests and pop floating booster bubbles along the path through the farmlands. They use a prize wheel and claim gifts. They also have opportunities to complete daily missions and challenges.
