WordWaves Word Game is a word search vocabulary game. On stones in a winding river, the player performs competitively against other online players to create and collect words as quickly as possible.
In each competition, or elimination round, the player's avatar stands on a stack of platforms in the water. Other players' avatars stand on nearby stacks. The game displays three or more letters on a circle below the characters. The player uses the letters to create and collect as many words as they can before their opponents.
With each guess, their avatar's platform increases in size. Their other goal is to work quickly enough to prevent the avatar from harm in the form of bombs, rising water and other dangerous obstacles. To win, the platform must stack up higher than the other platforms.
WordWaves gives the player a yellow light bulb icon to help them collect a single word without using the circle. It also gives them a swap letter tiles icon to help them change the current letters to an entirely different set that offers new fast word formation opportunities. They use gold coins to pay for access to these tools.
The game offers several methods for collecting gold coins and other rewards. For example, it rewards silver medals that eventually help the player level up and receive a coin allotment. It gives them daily sign-in, ad-view, treasure chest and daily task rewards. Over time, they also win new avatars.
