Word Search Universe is a word puzzle that focuses on vocabulary skill building. Across 20 chapters that feature three levels per chapter, the player attempts to find words based on specific themes. Their only goals are to search for and select words from lists and unlock all chapters.
The themes include fruits, animals, science and nature, vegetables and colors. In a chapter, the player starts with the Easy difficulty level first. They must find six words from a list among mixed letters in columns and rows at the center of the screen. The words might run horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.
The player selects the letters of a word by drawing a line across each one from the first letter to the last. The game then scratches out the word on the list with a single line.
After the player completes the list, they move on to the Medium and Hard levels. The length of the list words, the number of mixed letters, and the size of the puzzle grow with each difficulty level, but the number of words on the list stays the same.
Word Search Universe helps the player find a word with a hint button in the lower-left corner. The player must view ad videos to use it.
