Word Clash is a word search game that features elements similar to connect and crossword games. Across numerous levels, the player improves their vocabulary and unlocks new levels by guessing words based on letters displayed on a floating circle.
The game requires the player to draw a connecting line across the letters to form the words. It displays each letter as a tile above the circle as they draw the line. After they guess correctly, the tiles transfer to spaces on crossword-like rows. That said, the letters from correct words don't help form missing words in columns like true crossword puzzles or similar word search games.
The player wins a level and unlocks the next one when they fill all the rows. If they become stuck while trying to guess, they can shuffle the letters with a lower-left button marked with twisted double arrows. The game also fills in an entire word when they use a lower-right ad-supported button marked with a light bulb.
Word Clash doesn't reward the player with coins, gemstones or points to buy extra hints. Instead, the player must view ads. It also doesn't have an extra word collection or associated rewards. The player usually can't use the plural of a word in addition to the singular form to complete a level either.
