Woody Tap Block is a click-tap, logic-puzzle game that features mechanics from block and sorting games. On each level, the player removes colored, wheel-shaped wood blocks marked with white arrows presented in a pattern on a wood plank tabletop before they run out of moves. The directions of the arrows on the blocks influence their decisions.
The game presents a top-down view. As a result, the shapes don't look like wheels. Instead, they look like standard round-cornered square blocks found in other types of block- and tile-sorting games that feature directional arrows. That said, when the player selects a block with a click or tap, it rolls across the table surface.
Before the player makes selections, they must consider arrow directional movements and the number of moves available under the level number in the top-center area of the screen. For example, if a red wheel block marked with a down arrow is positioned to the left of a blue block marked with a left-pointing arrow, the player must select and remove the down-arrow wheel first so the left-pointing one can roll off the screen.
Woody Tap Block provides several additional unique differences to similar games in this category. The player wins some levels by purposely destroying wheel blocks. For example, they might need to destroy all blocks by directing the wheels to roll into spinning, serrated metal saw blades.
If the player makes a mistake or runs out of moves, they don't need to worry. They can always reload a level by selecting a reload button marked with two arrows in a circle.
