Water Sort is a sorting game in the liquid-sorting subcategory. The player sorts bands of colored water in flasks until each container holds only one color. Their objectives are to unlock new levels and earn achievement titles and rewards.
The player can review the potential achievements via the lower-left list button. Their titles include Rookie, Blazer, Captain, Expert, Adventurer, Pioneer, Conqueror, Master, King and Legend. The list also allows them to collect coin rewards after they reach each goal. Common achievements include completing a specific number of levels and performing some actions a specific number of times.
Water Sort isn't an overly difficult game, as long as the player plans their moves several steps ahead. To transfer water from one flask to another, they merely need to select the pouring container and then the collection one. They can only pour a liquid in a gap atop a color-matched liquid or an empty container. If a gap doesn't have enough room, the game automatically divides the water. The same water at the top of two flasks can sometimes result in the player running out of moves.
The game attempts to help the player via several booster-style tools. The player can use double arrows to reset the level, a spout to access a needed colored band from the bottom of a flask, a curved back arrow to reverse the last move, and a flask button to add a partial or complete empty container to the field.
