Water Color Sort is a sorting game. The player must use their reasoning skills to determine the best actions to take to sort bands of colored water into test tubes. The game is similar to ball-sorting games that use balls instead of colored water. It features a total of 40 levels. The player must complete a task in one level to unlock the next level. They're successful when they sort all the different colored bands of water into separate test tubes.
The player can only transfer one colored band of water into an empty tube or a tube containing a matching color that's standalone or on top of non-matching colors. If they make a mistake, they receive five chances to undo a previous move using an undo button labeled with a left-pointing arrow and a number.
Thankfully, Water Color Sort also allows the player to reset a level if they can't undo their last move or run out of options entirely. They merely need to click or tap the button at the top of the screen marked with a curved back arrow. They can also add an extra test tube to the playfield with a button at the top-right corner labeled with a plus sign and test tube icon.
It's important to note that the game increases the number and shades of colors with each new level. The player must think strategically to discover the right combination of moves necessary to complete the task.
