Unstack Tower is a block-puzzle and sorting skill game. The player must use common sense and logic to carefully remove blocks from tower builds on a green revolving tray that floats high in the sky. They base their actions on color tasks displayed at the top-center of the screen under the level number.
The player must typically use a top-down, physics or rapid-fall approach. With a top-down strategy, they remove the construction block from the top of a tower, which helps maintain the stability of the lower levels.
Yet, the blocks are sometimes supported with rectangular and square wooden crates or blocks made of glass. Depending on the tower design, the weight of one or more top standard or special blocks helps prevent one or more lower blocks from flipping outward.
Crates and glass blocks can fall off the tray. If a standard block falls, the player must replay the level. To prevent a loss, they need to either find lower blocks that meet the color requirements without removing support structures or select a falling block before it drops off the tray. If the block doesn't match the color task, the player can't stop the fall.
Unstack Tower provides tools that don't require complex strategies as well. On the lower-left side of the screen, the player can use a hammer to remove any one piece, a snowflake to freeze all items and prevent falls and drops, and a metal transformation tool that turns a block into a heavyweight piece of metal. The player must watch ad videos to use these tools.
