Unblock the Cube is a three-dimensional block sorting game. It displays floating cubes and other shapes made of wooden blocks marked with white arrows. The player's goal is to clear playfields of the cubes by directing the blocks to slide off the screen in the directions of the arrows.
Each shape has a unique number of blocks with arrows that point away from and toward each other. The player can only remove a block when the side closest to the arrow point has a clear path away from the shape. If another block is in the way, they must remove the blocks around it to open a path. They can rotate a shape to see all the unblocked pieces and possible moves.
As the game progresses, it increases the number of blocks in each shape. It also makes the shapes more complex and difficult to rotate. As a result, the player must consider each move carefully when attempting to clear paths. Otherwise, they might move some blocks into positions that prevent the movements of other blocks.
Unblock the Cube rewards the player with access to a double-arrow button that it describes as a "hint" option. That said, it doesn't actually provide hints. Instead, the tool randomly switches the direction of the arrow on any selected block, which can make it easier for the player to remove blocks from the field. They can earn additional access to this tool by viewing advertising videos.
