Tropical Cubes 2048 is a merge game based on the 2048 game. It uses cubes for the merging process instead of tiles. The player's goal is to merge the cubes to create a 2048 cube.
The game is set in a tropical location with a bokeh-style jungle as the backdrop behind a container made of narrow stones. The player drops cubes inside of this container to perform the merges. They can only merge matching cubes. For example, if they drop a 2 cube onto another 2 cube, the cubes merge to create a 4 cube.
The player also receives points, represented by diamond-shaped gold coins, as a reward. They can track the coins and their best score at the top-right corner of the screen. If they earn enough coins, they can purchase a bomb booster that allows them to remove a cube from the container.
Tropical Cubes 2048 doesn't offer a preview option. The player must use caution when dropping cubes into the container. They have no way of knowing the number of the next cube. The cubes also flip and bounce around on impact. As a result, the player might drop a cube that bounces away from their chosen target spot.
That said, the game seems to help the player through flips that appear random and lucky at first glance. When these flips occur, the game typically helps the player reach the next-highest cube.
