Triple Dimensions: Ice Age is a three-dimensional, timed block-matching game. Against snow-covered backdrops during an ice age, the player clears away stacks of blocks across 30 levels and earns the highest scores possible per level. To complete this task, they create sets of matching blocks.
The blocks feature icons that bring to mind what life can be like on the planet with and without the ice age, such as bees, beetles, birds, branches, butterflies, dinosaurs, leaves, mammals, stars and stone tools. Some blocks display numbers that multiply the number of points the player acquires for each match.
In all cases, the player must match three blocks with at least two free sides to create a set. Selected blocks appear in a vertical storage area on the right side of the screen.
The player doesn't need to stack the blocks together to make a set. As long as they add three of the same kind to the storage with other blocks, the game makes the set disappear and assigns points.
Triple Dimensions: Ice Age displays the timer in the upper-left area. When the player wins a level before the timer counts down to zero, the game assigns bonus points.
