Treasure Vault Mahjong is a tile-matching game that combines Chinese Mahjong with a steampunk theme. Across 28 levels, the gears of mechanized doors turn to reveal hidden rooms that feature a mix of antique and modern curios.
At the center of each room is a floating pattern of marble tiles marked with a wide mix of interesting and rare birds, coins, dragons, fans, flowers, lanterns, masks, statues, teapots and other objects. The player must remove the tiles in pairs based on image or category.
As with the majority of Mahjong games, this one allows the player to collect flower and seasonal category tiles without making identical matches. The game even helps the player recognize these tiles by placing an F in the upper-left corner of flower tiles and an S in the corner of seasonal ones. For example, the player can select a moon tile and a snowflake tile as a pair from the seasonal category.
Treasure Vault Mahjong offers Undo, Hints and Mixed options in the upper-left area and the total number of tiles and a timer in the upper-right area. The player uses undo to reverse a single move. They receive up to three free hints that reveal pairs by making the marble tiles look wet. They can also shuffle the tiles with the Mixed button three times free per level.
After the player use the free access, they must watch advertisements to continue to use these tools. At the end of each level, the game reveals the amount of time played and the number of each tool used to clear the field.
