Tiles: Pop Pop is a tile-matching puzzle game. It shares similarities with Halloween Monster Puzzle, Melodic Tiles, Tiles of the Simpsons, and Tiles of the Unexpected. The player's goal is to earn the highest score possible by selecting sets of two or more color-matched round-cornered tiles across levels.
The player must complete a level to unlock the next one. The only way they can win is by removing all tiles from each pegboard-style playfield. They lose and must start over if even one tile remains or a set of two tiles that have different colors.
A reload button marked with semicircular arrows in the upper-right area allows the player to start over at any time. If the player wants to track their current score or their best record score, they can see both numbers above the field.
Tiles: Pop Pop requires the player to think strategically about every move they make when selecting sets. All the remaining tiles shift upward when the player removes a set of matching tiles. As a result, they must imagine beforehand the exact positions that the remaining tiles will slide up into when they remove a set. If they make the right estimates, they create new sets. They merely need to remove existing sets in positions that allow single tiles to slide closer to matching ones.
The game makes play increasingly difficult by decreasing the size of the tiles and increasing the mixed tile distribution and the number of different tile colors. It also presents the same colors in slightly different shades.
