Tile Match Cafe is a tile-matching and room-renovation game. The player's primary objective is to clear levels of layered tiles in match-3 sets. With their coin winnings, they then purchase decorative and functional elements for an automated room renovation build.
On each level, the game displays layered patterns of tiles that feature common everyday icons, such as blue macaroons, cheese wedges, chocolate chip cookies, four-leaf clovers, frosted donuts, ice cream cones, lightning bolts, red hearts, water droplets, and watermelon slices. It also displays seven trays in a horizontal row. When the player selects an uncovered tile, the game transfers the piece to a tray. When they transfer three matching ones, the game removes the set.
Tile Match Cafe presents challenges over time. For example, it starts by hiding needed tiles on the lowest layer of a pattern. As the player unlocks new levels, they must reveal tile icons hidden behind question mark labels, inside wood crates, and in other ways.
The player can counter challenges by playing strategically and using boosters. The game has four unique boosters below the trays that include a hint light bulb that prompts it to auto-collect a match-3 set, double arrows that reposition the remaining pattern tiles, a back arrow that reverses the last move, and a plus one (i.e., +1) button that gives them an additional tray.
