Tile Living is a timed connect-style tile-matching game that features a room renovation mission. A girl needs the player's help with decorating her room. The player pays for the renovations with coins earned by matching tiles.
During each round, the game presents a pattern of mixed tiles that display decorations and renovation icons, such as books, curtains, electronics, furniture, pictures, pillows, plants, rugs, sports gear and toys. The player can only remove tiles in pairs of identical ones selected in adjacent side-by-side or stacked positions or across unobstructed gaps.
In the latter case, the player can't pair matching tiles separated by a distance equal to more than three connected lines that appear during the selection process. If the distance is greater than three lines, the second selected tile turns red and shakes in place.
Tile Living prompts the player to make renovations on the home screen after they save up enough coins. They earn the most money based on their per-round points and time bonus. During connect-style play, they can track their points in the upper-left area and the digital timer's countdown in the upper-right area. They can also multiply their points at the end of each round.
The player can also speed up their tile-matching actions with three boosters. The first booster in the lower-left area multiplies the points for each match by three. With it, the player earns the most points when they perform selections across long or wide gaps. The second booster temporarily stops the clock, and the third one auto-removes a pair.
The coin bank pays for both renovations and continued access to boosters. With a renovation, the player makes a purchase when prompted on the home screen. After they make 10 changes to the girl's room, they receive a gift.
