Tile Connect is a relaxing tile-matching game that uses connect-style lines to show a player all the available matches. The tiles display pleasant imagery, including candies, desserts, flowers and fruits. In each level, the player must remove all tiles from the board and fill up a golden bar to earn three stars to move on to the next level.
The game starts with a low number of tiles. Over time, the number of tiles per level gradually increases to make gameplay difficult. The player can select either a pair of matching tiles positioned side by side or tiles that connect within three lines. For example, they can't match a tile at the upper-right corner to a tile along the lower row because it takes four lines, if drawn by the player physically, to connect the two tiles. The corner tile only connects with a match next to it or along the right or top edges.
Some levels of Tile Connect require the player to complete all matches before a timer runs out. The player sometimes deals with distractions, such as bombs attached to tiles and sudden reshuffling of tiles to the left or all around the board. The game offers solutions to these problems.
For example, the player can remove a bomb tile by connecting it or using a tool button. If the player can't find a match and decides to use the hint button, the game connects two matching tiles with a golden line. If the player takes too long, the game automatically provides the hint. The player can also find matches by shuffling the tiles into new positions.
