The Most Difficult Puzzle is a block puzzle game that's difficult because it requires the player to fill a grid completely with colored irregular polygon shapes. After the player completes a level, they receive one or more stars. After they complete 10 levels, they receive coins.
The player can select Beginner, Easy, Medium, Hard and Expert modes. Every mode has locked levels. Although the game shares similarities with jigsaw puzzles, it's easiest for a player to learn how to play and win by starting with the Beginner mode. As they progress through the modes, the number of polygons increases, making it harder for them to piece together the shapes and complete a puzzle.
Once they start a level, the player receives several shapes below the grid. They must place these shapes accurately so that no empty spaces remain on the field. When they succeed, they can track their current coin and star balances at the top-right corner.
The Most Difficult Puzzle requires that the player has the spatial awareness and related abilities to imagine how shapes fit together to fill a space and how smaller shapes might look when enlarged on the grid. If the player makes a mistake, they can reset a level with a back-arrow reload button. They can also purchase hints using a lightbulb button in the lower-right corner. The hint tool shows a pulsing shadow of a shape in its correct position on the grid. If the player needs more coins to purchase hints, they can use a +125 button to earn more by viewing an ad video.
