TetRash is a block puzzle game similar to classic Tetris. The player creates and destroys 10-block horizontal lines using seven rotational four-block tetromino shapes known by the letters I, J, L, O, T, S, and Z. Their primary goals are to earn points, achieve four-line Tetris moves, and finish hundreds of levels by completing 10 lines per level.
The game starts with classic blocks and colors. Over time, the player receives access to other types of blocks. The tetrominoes initially drop from the top of the playfield down the screen at a slow speed. The speeds increases from level to level. The player can force a shape to drop faster. They can also rotate a shape to drop it into an optimal position based on its outline.
TetRash helps the player make informed strategic decisions about each drop by displaying a preview of the next shape near the upper-right corner. It displays a shadow of a dropping shape at all times at the bottom of the screen. The player has more luck with accurate, precise drops when they use the shadow shape to guide their actions.
The player can review their stats at any time. The game keeps a record of their highest score and the number of total cleared lines, one-, two-, and three-line instances, and Tetris achievements. It also tracks the longest and total playing times.
