Super Mario Flash, or SMF1, is a classic online fan-made arcade platformer based on Nintendo's Super Mario Bros. and characters from other related games. The player helps one of the famous Italian brothers and plumbers, Mario or Luigi, explore the Flash version of Mushroom Kingdom, starting in a tropical location filled with palm trees and doors leading to a wide variety of locations.
The player, via Mario or Luigi, collects floating coins, defeats enemies and explores while on a mission to rescue the Flash version of Princess Peach from evil. The game features many enemies, secret levels and hidden items. The player can direct the character to walk, run, jump and shoot their way through a level, past the many challenges that appear before them.
SMF1 also offers a level editor so that a player can create, delete, load and play or share their own custom levels. They can select from six background options (Land, Cave, Forest, Castle, Snow and Ghost), multiple level and bonus sizes, and a wide range of tile objects.
