Suika Kawaii, also known as Watermelon Cute, is a merge game in the Japanese Suika subcategory that combines 2048 merge, teddy picker machine, and Suika drop elements. The primary difference between it and similar games is that the player must merge matching anthropomorphic animal heads instead of fruit until they finish an evolution of various animals to create a cute kitten head.
From smallest to largest, the animals include mice, frogs, chickens, bluebirds, foxes, dogs, pigs, sheep, cows, bears and then cats. The game displays the evolution to the right of a transparent, brown-edged box. The player must also attempt to earn the highest score possible during play. They earn combination points for consecutive merges. If they allow the animal heads to stack up too much and overfill the box, they lose the game. They must then attempt to beat their last evolution level and score.
Suika Kawaii provides a dotted white aiming line. It also shows a preview of the next head in a floating bubble to the upper right of the box.
After the player reaches specific score levels, they gain temporary access to helpful tools. They receive the ability to drop multiple random heads into the box with one move, shake the box to move the heads into new positions, and randomly merge any two heads in the box to reach the next evolution. Once the player runs out of access, they must watch ads to regain it.
