Street Ball Jam is a sports game that features street-style basketball. The player directs an avatar in a jersey, shorts and a headband to make as many shots as possible before time runs out while playing on an outdoor street basketball court. The player receives dark pink gemstones for perfect throws and other efforts. They then use the jewels to unlock additional balls and courts.
The player starts with a regular basketball. The game features 22 more unlockable balls, including a beach ball and a gray basketball. Beyond the first street court, which features a mid-air backboard, hoop and chains next to a sunny beach locale and busy highway, the game offers five more locations (City Park, Night Beach, Park Night, The Village and Moon). The fifth one moves gameplay to the surface of the Earth's moon.
Street Ball Jam offers timed gameplay via a digital clock with red numbers. It initially gives the player 20 seconds. If they make enough shots before time runs out, they receive extra time on the clock and gemstones. The backboard, hoop and chains aren't stationary. The player must anticipate new positioning before they direct their avatar to shoot the ball. If they perform well, they also receive combo rewards and a fireball.
