Stacks 2048 is a merge game that features 2048 evolution moves. The player stacks and merges matching numbered boxes across five columns to create high-numbered boxes up to and beyond 2048. They also attempt to earn the highest score possible and collect diamonds until the game ends.
New boxes drop into one or more columns automatically after each move. The player can reposition only one box at a time. Additionally, they can only manually merge a pair of stacked matchibg boxes.
Yet, if they perform a merge of two boxes atop a third box that matches the newly created one, that new one and the third one merge together as well. This outcome is even possible with larger stacks of four or more boxes. Of course, the game ends if the player allows boxes in a column to pile up too high.
The player can also open up merge opportunities by stacking a box on a non-matching one. This move frees up space above a box that might already have a match in another area of the playfield.
Stacks 2048 gives the player 300 diamonds at the start of the game to purchase boosters that include a bomb that randomly explodes and removes mixed boxes and a hammer that removes a single box. That said, new diamonds are hard to procure during play, and the tools are expensive.
If the player wants to start over at any time, they need to select the pause button and then the restart option.
