Sort Resort is a test-tube style sorting game. The player must swap fluids in test tubes called flasks to match goals given to them by the game. They earn gold coins and paint cans for their efforts. After Level 6, they use the paint to then color pre-drawn scenes of various resort vacation spots on stickers in a travel book.
As with other similar sorting games, the player receives access to a playfield that displays flasks filled with different colors of fluid. They must fulfill the tasks on the left vertical bar. For example, the game might direct them to use one color of paint to fill flasks a specific number of times or use a specific combination of different paint colors in one flask.
Sort Resort doesn't stick to simple test-tube sorting mechanics. With some levels, the player must sort the fluids to gain access to stars hidden at the bottom of the flasks or unlock blocks by filling flasks with color-matched fluids.
The game also provides the player with tools to make play easier and faster. With their coin winnings, they can purchase an empty flask, empty a flask entirely, or add a flask of one or more liquids. The player can earn more coins by viewing ads.
