Shooting Balls is a block game that features bubble-shooting and brick-breaking play. It challenges a player to destroy numbered blocks in square forms and other geometric shapes hanging in sections and rows from the top of the screen in front of a gradient royal blue background with a white ball.
When the player bounces a ball against a block, the number on it reduces by one point per bounce. The ball often bounces off blocks, the sidewalls and the ground level before it stops. The game supplies several tools to improve the ball's impact on the blocks. For example, it provides a white-dotted targeting line.
Shooting Balls also offers boosters that duplicate the ball so that more than one ball hits the blocks at the same time or bounces in a spread in all directions. Other boosters include a fireball that destroys a nearby section of blocks, an energy ball that causes double the damage, and lightning balls that destroy vertical and horizontal rows of blocks.
Of course, the player must also work around many obstacles and threats, including skull balls that destroy the their ball and toxic green balls that cause damage.
Once the player loses a game, they can continue or start over. The game tracks the numbers for their highest score, matches played, total shots, balls fired, blocks destroyed, balls collected, items collected, and dead balls from skulls.
