Sea Match is a match-3 tile-matching puzzle game. In a deep underwater location across 40 levels, the player collects various marine objects and destroys highlighted blocks by swapping items to create diagonal and horizontal lines of three or more hexagon-shaped tiles. Their other goals are to earn points, collect time-bonus, fish-embossed gold coins, and unlock successive levels.
The player searches for items on tiles that would create a line of three or more matching items with a single swap move. When the line occurs on a highlighted block, it destroys the block, and the underlying tile turns white. When they create a line adjacent to one or more wooden crates, the crate or crates break to reveal hidden tiles.
The game might also prompt the player to help release objects from the tiles, such as keys that unlock locked tiles or life preservers. They must act quickly to finish a level before the timer bar on the right side with a golden bar and the fish coins, similar to classic stars, run out of gold color.
Sea Match also offers boosters that the game calls bonuses on the left side of the screen. They can destroy five horizontal tiles with a starfish, a highlighted area with a dolphin, and a random five tiles with a seahorse. After initial free access, the game requires them to view videos to use non-board bonuses.
When a bonus appears on the board, the player can use it without viewing ads. For example, they can use a seahorse to randomly destroy tiles.
