School Bus Driver is a semi-realistic, driving-simulation game that focuses specifically on the types of maneuvers and steps a driver must take to handle a classic, yellow-and-black school bus on slightly busy city streets. The player must successfully pick up and drop off children at bus stops and the school.
Although the game features only five levels, each one offers an extra obstacle or problem. That said, the game doesn't lock any levels, which means the player can pick any level to start their adventure as a professional driver. They use a red dot on a compass-style minimap at the top left corner of the screen to drive the bus toward pick-up areas.
When the player stops the bus, the red brake lights turn on. When they back up, white lights turn on. They can also blast a horn. If they drive into a ditch, the bus becomes stuck and tilts onto its side. Yet, if they hit another vehicle, they don't cause any damage. The other driver just drives away as if nothing happened to them.
