Sand Blast Puzzle is a Tetris-based logic-puzzle game in the same subcategory as Sandris and Sandrix. The player doesn't attempt to create wall-to-wall horizontal lines made of blocks, as required in classic Tetris. Instead, they drop sand grains packed together to form polyomino shapes into a rectangular container to create one-color wall-to-wall bands. They also attempt to achieve a high score while they play and then later attempt to beat their past max score.
A one-color band can have any form or number of grains. That said, it must not have any areas broken by even a single grain of non-matching sand. The player creates the bands by rotating each shape into the widest drop form possible to cover more of the wall-to-wall divide. They can drop a shape left, right or center in the container. If desired, they can also optimize the time they spend playing by prompting a shape to drop faster.
Sand Blast Puzzle immediately breaks the bonds holding the grains of sand together when a shape reaches the bottom or other sand piles or shapes. The player must consider nature and physics and think several steps ahead to make a one-color band. For example, sand spreads from a drop point outward. Sand grains also roll down the sides of sand piles.
