Roll Out! Exit From Traffic is a sorting game similar to parking games. The player sorts arrow-marked cars on streets to move the vehicles through traffic by selecting ones unblocked by other cars. Their goals are to collect three stars per level, unlock new levels and rank high on a global best players list.
On each level, the game gives the player a limited number of moves under the level number in the upper-center area. The player must select carefully or risk defeat. That said, if they fail, the game treats them kindly by allowing them to replay the level without a penalty.
As with parking jam games, the player must simply direct the unblocked cars to move away from traffic first and then prompt the rest to drive away. Of course, they must watch out for tricks.
For example, cars with arrows that point left or right might imply that a vehicle will hit a street's berm. Instead, as with real-world traffic signals on a dashboard, the arrow refers to the car's next turn direction. An arrow shaped like a U indicates that the car will drive straight, turn left or right onto a new street, and then turn again down the next side street opposite to its first direction. On some levels, the player also deals with pedestrians in crosswalks.
Roll Out! Exit From Traffic offers a neat booster in the lower-center position. The player can select a button marked with a witch's hat to make a car turn into a ghost that flows right through blocking traffic elements.
