Rock Buster 3D is a brick-breaking arcade game that differs from classic Brick Breaker variants. Instead of breaking all the bricks in two-dimensional walls with a ball and paddle, a player must bust randomly placed rocks in three-dimensional environments with a tank to clear a path to a finish line.
Although the game is set up with levels, it features an endless-runner element as well. The tank rolls forward and starts shooting immediately after the player interacts with the screen. The player then steers the tank so that it opens up a path quickly in a rock field that displays numbers on the tops of the rocks.
Each hit reduces the number and size of a rock until it disappears entirely from the field. The player's tank can't destroy black rocks. When the player shoots any other type, the projectiles bounce off other rocks like balls in a pinball machine, which means that each bouncing projectile can bust several rocks at a time. That said, the player can't allow the tank to hit a rock of any size. If they don't bust a rock in time, the tank explodes, and they must restart the level.
Rock Buster 3D offers coins and boosters to improve gameplay. When the player wins a level, they receive coins that they can then use to level up power and income boosters. They can also earn boosters and increase their income by watching advertisements.
